Obituary of Henry George Smith

Henry (Hank) George Smith, born December 28, 1922, in Seattle, Washington, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019. Henry graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1941 and served in the U.S. Air Corps as a B-17 ball turret gunner in WW2. He was honored by KOMO TV in 2011 for his service. He was the owner of Valley Press Print Shop, in downtown Puyallup, from 1962 to 1975, and was voted Rotarian of the year in 1972. He served as an Elder at Eklesia Church in Tacoma for 7 years and Christ Vineyard Church in Graham for 5 years. Henry was a member of South Hill Christian Church since 2009. He served as President on the Board of Japan Good News Evangelistic Assoc. for 3 years and was on the board of Christ For India for over 40 years, making 3 trips to India, focusing on the work of Evangelism. Henry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fay Smith of Spanaway, Washington, two daughters, Marian Doring and Valerie Smith, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Henry will be laid to rest at the Tahoma Veterans National Cemetery, Covington, Washington. Memorial Celebration will be held at South Hill Christian Church, date to be determined.
