Obituary of Laura Lillian Degenstein

Laura Lillian Degenstein, born in Port de Grave, Newfoundland, Canada, passed at the age of 86.  Laura is survived by her husband James Degenstein, her children:  Carolynn Nichols, Kathryn McCrayer, and John Surbrook Jr..  Laura (mom) and Jim met later in life and added Jim's children to the family as well:  Louise Brusven, Lisa Sitler, Brenda Degenstein and Carrie Daley.  Between them they were blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren...so many mom quit counting with some still on the way!  She is survived by many siblings, nieces/nephews (also so many to keep track of), some of whom have preceded her in going home. Mom was born into what became a family of 10 children. But if you made the mistake of saying mom was Canadian, she would defiantly claim she was NOT Canadian, she was a "Newfie" as she was born prior to Newfoundland officially becoming part of Canada.

Mom loved her children, really loved her grandchildren, and really, REALLY loved her great grandchildren.  She will be missed by many, remembered by more and loved forever.
