Obituary of Dorla Jean Culbertson

On April 8th, with her granddaughter by her side Dorla Jean Culbertson(Lawson), Aka Grama Dollie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully. She is survived by her granddaughters Wendy Culbertson (Mike McGuire), Cassandra Steadham(Justin) and her only Great granddaughter Olivia Grace, also Daughter in law Kay Culbertson (Chuck Knowles), and  her remaining two brothers, David Lawson(Pattie) and Dan Lawson (Grace) and a bunch of nieces and nephews.

Born June 3,1934 to Harry and Grace Lawson. She was their only daughter out of 5 children. She was born and raised all over Oregon. She grew up knowing her husband Bob and eventually they fell in love and married June 15, 1957. Then a year later welcomed their one and only child George Leroy. Throughout their lives they lived in Washington, Oregon and briefly California.

Grandma lived a full and fruitful life. She loved her family and spoiled her granddaughters with a tons of love and rice crispy treats. She became friends with everyone she met. She was a devoted Christian and loved her Church family and was known to everyone as Grama Dollie. For the last 40 years both her and Grandpa were dedicated members of Valley Bible Church where she taught Sunday School, Children’s church and Vacation Bible School, often dressing up as the characters like being a lizard on Noah’s Ark.

Grama spent over 20 years at McConkey, making flower pots and retiring as Production Supervisor. She also at times helped Grandpa with the apartment management as well.

Grama was absolutely one of the funniest people I knew. She also was a very loving, caring, forgiving, compassionate, and confident woman. She was definitely a special person to all that have met her. She constantly prayed for every single one of you. She loved everything about Missionaries. She had one time wanted to be a missionary but God kept her here to be a missionary to minister on the home front. There is so much more about my grama that I can write about. I am blessed to be her granddaughter. We were all blessed with her in our lives! We love you and miss you granny,
