Obituary of Jody Lynn Hays

Jody Lynn Hays , 62, of Spanaway, WA. passed away on 5/21/2023, surrounded by loved ones, after succumbing to bilateral pulmonary embolisms despite quite the fight from an amazing team at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Jody was born on 8/8/1960, to Dorothy & Raymond (Steve) in Tacoma, WA. where she was born and raised, graduating from Mt. Tahoma High School.

In 1988, Jody first met Craig Hays through mutual friends, Mike & Julie, later reuniting in 1997 to start their forever 22+year marriage.

Jody is survived by her mother Dorothy, her husband, Craig, her daughters Melissa, Jamie & Chelsey, brothers Brad & David (Art), grandsons Austin, Ethan, Lincoln, & Corban, great-granddaughters Ausha & Adaruh, many extra sons, daughters, nieces, & nephews she considered her own kids, and her treasured four legged babies. She is now able to join in heaven her predeceased father Steve, grandmother Jean (Nana), step father Jerry, mother-in-law Notah, brother-in-law Michael, step-brother Keith, along with many other loved ones.

Jody cared deeply about family, friends, and animals all of which were a driving force of her passion in life. She loved hard, protected fierce, and was always up for a good time especially if it involved helping others.

A celebration of life BBQ will be planned to honor her love of family, friends, food, and shenanigans.
